Yes, rx's are over-prescribed. You are so young..... I thought this too for a very long time. Unfortunately I am one of those with a "fake disease", that coincidentally endorphins from exercise and coco from chocolate seem to cure for a bit leading me to believe in what the pharm. industry describes as "chemical imbalance"....when i noticed how sad i was but not when i ran a couple miles or pounded on some chocolate, i acknowledged that my deep depression/suicidal thoughts really was physiological. so could you also say that gyms and Hershey's company are drug dealers as well since they give you a happy feeling? Depression is a serious disease and just as so many folks abuse these drugs and the industry makes shit loads of money from it, there are a few of us out there that genuinely need the help to make it through.... i am one of them and am thankful that i have teh option to get help. peace.

Sometimes you get to even up the score!

I'm one of the Vioxx heart attack people and now Merk (in cahoots wth doctors, of course)has now settled with me for an enormous sum of money.

Now, where do I go to get my heart back?

Good Piece.

I agree with yogamommy. Some forms of depression can be alleviated with certain foods and exercise. And personally I'd prefer exercising then taking medication. However, look at someone who's bipolar. They need medication to create some semblance of an equilibrium.
